Just what is cold laser therapy?
More and more veterinarians are recommending cold laser therapy as a means to help their patients with acute and chronic medical problems. Commonly known as LLLT, cold or soft laser, it is a form of photo therapy which involves the application of monochromatic & coherent light to injuries and lesions to stimulate healing. The effects of LLLT are photochemical not thermal. Photons enter the tissue and are absorbed in the mitochondria and at the cell membrane. The physiological changes that occur after this, affect a multitude of medical conditions by increasing the speed, quality and tensile strength of tissue repairs and reduces any inflammation. Therefore making your pets healing process much shorter and less painful. Laser therapy is a universal method treating muscle, tendon, ligament, connective and skin tissue as well as bone and joint issues. Laser therapy is non-invasive and drug free therefore giving a treatment option for the high risk patients.
Cold laser therapy is done at the clinic as an outpatient procedure, there is no sedation required, it takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes and is very affordable. It does require your time to bring your pet in for treatment daily, weekly or monthly depending upon their individual need. We have had many success stories from our clients and recommend cold laser therapy for the conditions listed below.
